As a public body the TUD Dresden University of Technology and therefore the Dresden International Graduate School for Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (DIGS-ILS) as a central unit of the TUD are subject to the stipulations of the Saxon Data Protection Law (SächsDSG), in addition to the relevant statutory provisions and regulations concerning protection of the right of self-determination with regard to personal information.
To protect your relevant rights, we have implemented technical and organizational measures to ensure that the regulations governing data protection within the TUD are also observed by external service providers where the latter contribute to our website.
Your data may only be processed to the extent permitted by specific legislation or where your consent has been granted.

Matomo Web Analytics
In order to help us improve our website we collect anonymized visitor data using the web analytics tool Matomo (formerly Piwik). The collected data are being stored and analyzed on a server housed at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics (MPI-CBG) in Dresden, Germany.
This is the data we collect:
- Anonymized IP address
- Name and version of your operating system
- Name, version, language settings, and installed plugins (PDF, Flash, MediaPlayer, …) of your browser
- Screen resolution of your device
- Address of the previously visited website
- Pages you visit on this website
- Time and duration of your visit
- Search keywords if you came to our website from a search engine

Matomo Data Collection Opt-Out
It appears you have deactived JavaScript in your browser. This feature is only available with JavaScript turned on. If you don’t want your data to be collected, you can still turn on Do Not Track in your browser which is a general setting and is being respected by our Matomo installation.
Server Log Files
For technical reasons, our servers and applications save personal details upon your visit to our websites in their log files. However, these data are only used for the immediate provision of our services, for troubleshooting purposes or for attack prevention and will be deleted automatically after 10 days.
The following data are saved temporarily:
- Your IP address
- Date and time of your website visit
- The address of the website visited
- The address of the previously visited website (referrer)
- Name and version of your browser and operating system
External Services
In some pages we have integrated interactive maps by Mapbox. When calling those pages, Mapbox sets a cookie on your computer and sends usage data to their servers. No personal data is being transmitted, though.
