FameLab 2026, Preliminary Round – Register Until 31 March!

FameLab is the world’s largest science communication competition, where scientists present their research topic in just three minutes: clearly, engagingly and in a way that is accessible to a broad audience. Register now to take part! Registration for the regional heat Dresden ends on 30 March 2026.
Rules
- Eligible participants include Master’s students, doctoral researchers and researchers aged 21 and above
- Topics may come from the natural sciences or the social sciences
- Each presentation must not exceed 180 seconds
- Creative props are allowed: anything that can be carried onto the stage by the participants themselves (PowerPoint slides are not permitted)
- Presentations are evaluated according to the criteria content, clarity and charisma
Prizes in the Dresden preliminary round
- 1st prize:
- €300
- participation in a communication and media training (June 12–13, 2026 in Bielefeld)
- participation in the FameLab Germany final (July 1, 2026 in Bielefeld)
- 2nd prize:
- €200
- participation in a communication and media training (June 12–13, 2026 in Bielefeld)
- particpation in the FameLab Germany final (July 1, 2026 in Bielefeld)
An audience award will also be presented on the evening of the event. The two top-ranked participants will qualify for the FameLab Germany final in Bielefeld, where they will compete for the chance to represent Germany at the international FameLab final.
