Dr. Nicola Bauer: Career Opportunities in Pharma and Biotech Industry
About 95% of Early Career Researchers (ECRs) eventually have to switch into a job outside of academic research. Alternative jobs in Pharma and Biotec Industry, as well as other sectors, appear as a black box to many.
This talk gives insights into the pharmaceutical product life cycle – the backbone of all pharma business – and associated career opportunities, thereby also addressing relevant and highly seeked transferable skills of researchers. The talk is followed by a Q&A session.
Dr. Nicola Bauer is a trainer and systemic coach for doctoral researchers and postdocs with focus on purposeful career orientation, self-development and mental health. She is familiar with the pharmaceutical industry through several years in pharmaceutical business consulting after her doctorate in stem cell biology at the MPI-CBG und BIOTEC in Dresden. Based on her second studies in Psychology and her own professional path, Nicola as a trainer lives what defines her: she is highly experienced in professional orientation and career transitions, as well as in providing scientists with targeted support.
