DataViz Academy is a seminar series organized by Helena Jambor at MSNZ (see this PDF schedule and check this website’s calendar regularly for updates).

DIPP students are all welcome to attend. Those who attend all seminars will receive a certificate of seminar attendance from DIGS-BB/MSNZ. If you plan to attend the full series, please drop Arantxa an e-mail.

Microscopy imaging is a key technology for biomedical research. Image are processed and prepared for publication with dedicated imaging software. Knowledge of the software and its features is key to avoid accidentally manipulating image data. The software of choice is the free and open source software ImageJ (or its more user-friendly sibling FIJI).

Today, Christopher Schmied gives a first introduction to novice users of FIJI. Christopher Schmied did his PhD with Pavel Tomancak at the MPI-CBG, where FIJI was developed in 2012. Since then, he worked as image analyst at the DZNE, FMP Berlin and now at the Human Technopole Milan, and also provides training.
